Financial Advice for Recent Graduates from the New York Times

This article is over my head. The advice doesn't seem to apply to me, even though I am supposedly it's target audience. It is also terribly organized. Questions and answers are strung together for 14 pages!

Sample question:

Q.
I was wondering if you could give a general overview of Roth I.R.A.’s. I hear that in a couple of years there might be new laws governing the Roth I.R.A.’s which might make it pretty much the same or worse than that regular I.R.A.’s. How does investing in Roth I.R.A.’s better or worse in the short run, or even in the long run for a student whose come out with lots of loans and is still searching for a job?
